FAQs: Proteomics
What is proteomics?
Proteomics is the study of proteins. As proteins are the products of genes, and there are more than 20,000 genes in a human cell, proteomics is an attempt to catalogue the complex inner workings of cells and organisms. Proteins are studies using techniques such as gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry.
